Brassy Color

Hair turning a brassy color can be due to a number of factors. Please read through the list and see which one applies to your situation.

  1. Your shampoo and/or conditioner contains sulfates. Please check your shampoo/conditioner and discontinue if necessary.
  2. You have Hard Water with iron minerals. These can build up on the hair and affect your color either immediately or over time. Please add a Chelating Shampoo into your monthly hair care regimen. (Malibu C Wellness Beauty Collection offers options that customers report positive results with.)
  3. You unknowingly have henna in your shampoo and/or conditioner that can be more fully activated by Hairprint®. Please check the ingredients of your shampoo and/or conditioner carefully and discontinue it if necessary.
  4. High amounts of sun exposure. If you spend a lot of time outdoors, please wear a hat and cover your hair as often as possible. UV opens up the hair and causes pigment to wash out.

The brassy color should not return after your next Hairprint® application as long as you remove the underlying cause of the color change.
